Golf St. George

Mountain biking in St. George and Washington County is rapidly challenging the long-time recreation King of the Hill – golf.  But the gorgeous scenery and unmatched weather are conducive to both activities. Hence, both thrive.

The area has dozens of exceptional public golf courses and play is year round.  Here is a small sampling of what the discriminating linkster can expect.

SunRiver Golf Course is one of southern Utah's great championship courses.  Four men’s layouts & tee boxes and two for the ladies allow all handicappers to pick their poison.  Par is 71 but the rating from the yellow tees is a whopping 72.6.

The course layout is set next to the Virgin River and surrounded by the most colorful desert landscape in the country. Smooth greens and the only bent grass tees in southern Utah assures visitors an enjoyable round of golf. The well-stocked pro shop has merchandise and attire for the discriminating golf enthusiast. A short drive north of town, the Ledges Golf Course is a 7,200 yard championship course designed by Matt Dye against a grand backdrop of Snow Canyon State Park. The course is both innovative and challenging and the rugged, red rock terrain surrounding the course has gained it a reputation of being one of the most stunning settings for golf in the country.  The Fish Rock Grill serves lunch and dinner. Coral Canyon Golf Course provides a rare opportunity for you to enjoy a luxurious round at the doorway to some of the world’s most famed natural wonders.
